The 5-Minute Outfit That Gets Me Out the Door (and Still Feeling Like Me)
There’s a 7-minute window in my morning.
Between brushing tiny teeth, packing lunch boxes, and warming yesterday’s chai — that’s all I have.
Seven minutes to get dressed. Five, actually — if the toddler’s in a mood.
I used to grab anything clean. Usually oversized, stretched, sometimes stained. I told myself comfort matters more than appearance — and it does.
But something shifted the day I wore our muslin co-ord set.
Still soft. Still roomy. But this time, I looked in the mirror and thought — “I still feel like me.”
What’s a 5-Minute Outfit?
It’s that set you don’t have to think about.
The one that feels like pajamas but looks like a plan.
The one you can throw on with one hand while holding a baby in the other.
For me, it’s our Sage Serenity Co-ord.
Sometimes the Dusty Rose.
Soft, breathable, light on my skin — and no ironing (because let’s be real).
How I Style It (Without Trying)
-
Bare-faced and bun up: A swipe of balm, my sandals, and done.
-
On busy days: I add gold hoops and sling a tote — just enough.
-
And when I get lucky with 10 extra minutes? I throw on a jacket and turn errands into a coffee stop.
I’ve worn it to preschool drop-offs, market runs, even video calls.
And no one ever asked if I just rolled out of bed.
Even though — yes, I absolutely did.
Why Muslin Works for Moms
Because it doesn’t cling.
Because it lets your skin breathe.
Because it feels like kindness when your day doesn’t.
It’s not about looking perfect. It’s about feeling comfortable, capable, and okay — even when everything’s spinning.
If You’ve Got 5 Minutes, You’ve Got an Outfit
That’s it.
You don’t need a makeover. You don’t need more clothes.
You just need one soft set that shows up for you, the way you show up for everyone else.
You’re not lazy.
You’re just busy loving.
Dress like it.
